Red Bull Music Academy: A Conversation With Darren Aronofsky

When Amy worked for Alliance Atlantis, back in the early 2000's that meant a few things, a really cool job, and secondly, really good deals on movies. A big selling point for her.  The first movie she bought was Darren Aronofsky's Pi - on VHS. :) Who was this guy? Who shot this amazing film on reversal, and had a soundtrack which had the likes of Clint Mansell, Orbital, and Autechre. It was Darren Aronofsky.

It's amazing how those moments lead to moments like this. Thanks to Red Bull Media House, on August 3rd Amy was in Brooklyn to Interview Darren Aronofsky about his upcoming talk for Red Bull Music Academy, which produced these teasers for the event.  In Toronto, on September 10th 2015 Darren will be speaking about music in film. We're all really excited about this project, and can't wait to make more magic happen at Koerner Hall.

The event will be ticketed (so you should come!), and Amy has pulled the Lunch network together to create what should be an incredible evening for our friends at Red Bull. From the poster design, title and set direction of Jacknife, to the amazing programatic work of Rob King, to leveraging the live event skills of The Mission Business' Elenna Mosoff, and post wizardry of Six Degrees, and Saved Ground this should be a beautiful evening to remember. We are thrilled to be able to collaborate on what will be the first Red Bull Music Academy lecture of it's kind. Speaking with a Director, rather than a musician or producer about use of music and sound in film.   Won't be able to join live in Toronto?  Well, following the event we'll be producing an archive to tell the story of this amazing evening with Darren.

We can hardly wait.
