We've been doing this together for 10 years. We've made a lot of different things, collaborated with brands, agencies and artists internationally and made magic happen while delivering ROI for our clients.
To celebrate turning 10, we are launching Lunch consults.

We're still passionate about the work we do with the clients who have helped build our business, but we're also looking forward to helping YOU to get things more things done, and more things made with our guidance and expertise.

Whether it's creating a campaign, rebranding, making a tv spot, a feature film, buying media, building a community or making an app. We've done it. And then some. If it's helping to determine what efficiencies may be possible with your business, how to bring a brand to market, or getting an overview of best practices, we've done that too.

We wanted to turn the experiences we've had in the last 20 years into solutions for entrepreneurs, non-profits, brands, and creators who may not have large budgets for execution, but may be looking for advice, perspective or actual planning and implementation. We are now available not just to our clients but to you and yours.

We've had some of the most fun in the last 10 years building our client's businesses, and our own brands and realized we could have even more fun with collaborators who may want to build internal marketing infrastructure, production or bring a new product to market.

In October of 2017 Lunch were engaged to answer DGC Ontario’s objective - to differentiate, and educate the film & TV industry nationally and internationally on what DGC Ontario Members do, and all of the incredible work that’s connected to them.

They wanted a campaign. They’d never done a campaign, and had never worked with an agency of any kind. Since we have Members among us, and lots of experience with the Industry, we discussed and thought we could definitely help. We understand the issues, the competition and the way Canadians often have a challenge walking with a swagger although they are some of the most talented people on the planet.

The Members had never before been surveyed, and no formal research had been done with regard to the perceived issues. We began by diving into internal research, speaking with the employees of the organization, then the Members themselves, directors, production designers, sound and picture editors, locations and art department.

We had conversations, we completed a survey, and we also spoke with the targets of the DGC Ontario. Producers, showrunners, and studios about what they knew about DGC Ontario , their Members. We delivered over 150 pages of research findings, and we proceeded to move to strategy. Using the issues which came up through research to deliver an integrated strategy, communications plan and marketing calendar. Again, firsts for the organization.

From strategy we moved on to creative bringing together a dream team of creatives including Nathan Jurevicius, Chanda Chevannes, Amy Miranda, Catshrine, Alex Duchene and Sasha Pierce. The campaign created was based on the idea that all of the Members and creatives of Ontario carry a magic that weaves itself through everything they touch.

The idea that creativity itself is alive and that collaboration makes creativity better.

'Spirit of Creativity' was born. We created a design system and approach that included reworking the DGC Ontario Logo in order to elevate it to live alongside the creative.

We worked to brief and negotiate a launch media package with The Hollywood Reporter and delivered a pre-launch for Q1 2019 - only a month after finishing research. An incredible amount of work for the brief, and for an organization with no previous experience in marketing. We recommended the organization begin to not only communicate externally but correct internal communication with full transparency. We launched the new direction locally January 10, and in a few short months not only was the communications/marketing launched but the industry began to notice, and most importantly the Membership aligned.

However, March 28 2019 Lunch made the tough decision to resign working with DGC.

We’re looking forward to seeing the campaign continue to come to life and evolve. We wish them the best. We are incredibly proud of the work and the creative energy that went into this campaign from research to execution and wish the Membership the success they deserve in the artistry they bring to the table. We brought an incredible group of artists together and had some really fun opportunities to collaborate with the Members of DGC.

When DGC Ontario needed help to differentiate and lift up their Members, they hired Lunch. When UNIT 9 needed some help to pull together a last minute project, with a small budget to shoot for MLSE in Toronto, Jason Zada mentioned that we could probably help.

Doing service production isn't something we normally do for anyone but our own clients, but we wanted to help an old friend. So, Natalie Urquhart and Amy Miranda got to work, from casting (Thank you MANN Casting!), to locations, and crew. It was a treat to shoot at the Rogers Centre and get a look at the behind the scenes operations of our friends at MLSE.

Synchronicity was at work, when Amy found out that the lead actor who was cast was the son of old highschool friends. Not to mention the Mayfield contingent that seemed to be on the crew.

After Facebook's challenges in the last few years there was a delay on releasing this, but we're so happy to see it in the world. The kids who had the experience to partake in this told us it was a dream come true.

That's the real reason why we love what we do. It's those moments.

We love old school children's shows. When we first heard about Anaana's Tent from Taqqut productions we were all very excited. A show with educational components, language, story, puppets, animation, live action. Inspiring and delightful Anaana's Tent is a place we enjoyed spending our time, seeing the way children and audiences are falling in love with it doesn't surprise us. It captured our hearts right away.

We helped to shape the digital strategy, social outline, designed and developed the web experience, app expeirence and game experience and of course fell in love with the lemming.

We were thrilled to help DGC Ontario conceptualize, design and execute such a special day. DGC Hub needed to be a warm and welcoming place for TIFF 2018 delegates, and DGC members to attend panel discussions. We sought out to create a space that artists would want to spend the day being inspired in. The day was filled with panels around the craft of Sound Editing, Picture Editing, Production Design and Directing. DGC Members with films featured in TIFF participated in discussions about their projects and their artistry. Special addition to the day was legend, Hans Zimmer. In order to illustrate the collaboration that happens in film we created concepts which spoke to the different crafts coming together. Catshrine created a prism concept that lead the way through the installations in the space, Alex Zimmerman extended the concept into signage, light boxes, and window design and DGC Member and Production Designer Diana Abbatangelo created the warm, welcoming space that we indeed had to kick people out of at the end of a long day. Mission Accomplished.

When we all end up staying for the whole day we know we did something special, and that was exactly what happened. Thank you to Irene, Christopher, Elaine, Chanda, Natalie, Alex, Diana, Anne Marie, Aviva, Lexy, Amy and the whole lunch crew. Thanks to Gloria Ui Young Kim who not only stopped by but tried to help us tear down. Talk about team work.

We can't wait until next year.

If this is the future of digital technology, then we like it. More than just screens, this is pure artful inspiration where you make the magic. Come and play.

We particularly love this video of the Mayor of Wellington getting down.
